I am really sad that you have such harsh feelings about the lds church that you would make this blog. You should always realy on your feelings when your praying weather a bishop tells you to stay in a relationship or not. If you are living the way you should God does answere prayers. As far as the whole brain washing theory it is simply your bad experience with one member of the church. You should of fasted and prayed some more. As far as the lds church goes if you read the Book of Mormon and pray sincerely to know if it is true you will find out for yourself. This religion is a perfect knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ. The people how ever are not perfect! Jesus is real and he does know and love you. You have to know that posting pictures of people in garments is wrong. Bashing something that you obviously do not have an understanding of is wrong. I pray that you do!

It blows my mind that people can preach this kind of crap and others are clamoring to hear it and agree with it, in 2010 no less. My 10 yr. old daughter listened to this and said, "This is offensive!" I appreciate the fact that my young daughter can hear something like this and recognize it for what it is, complete bullshit. If you do a little research, this information is not correct. Take for example the 1992 April Conference Address by Richard G. Scott. Go read it because that is not what he says at all. He does not tell LDS woman to not probe. He does not tell abuse victims that it's their fault, he very clearly states the opposite! You state that you don't know who wrote this. That should be a red flag. It might be a good idea to do a little research yourself before you post something you find. It seems like you've posted this just to make you feel good and to make you feel right and justified.

Wow. Your story is exactly like my story. And others stories that I know, too. I had to make a decision to have friends and live a life I didn't want to live, or at a young vounerable age be totally alone. I chose to leave them behind (I was sick of lectures about impurity and worthiness). The friends I gained from that experience have stayed my friends through thick and thin, and even though I might have once had (to quote the TBM quotes) a SWEET spirit, I have a much STRONGER character now. :)

Back in the early 90's I lived in the same ward as the Farmington, UT Sheriff. He was also the Elders quorum president in our ward at the time.

He once started his lesson by telling us all something that pissed him off to no end. When he pulls people over for speeding they hand him their temple recommend. He says a that point he hands back the recommend and recites the LDS Article of Faith #12. And then makes them get out of the car to do a sobriety check. LOL!

Many of these "one liner" quotes at the end had me rolling on the floor laughing my fucking ass off!

My personal favorite:

Wow! What a cult! I've personally been at the receiving end of a few of those. And sadly, witnessed others be subjected to similar garbage that came out of my mouth.

It's like there is a literal playbook that everyone refers to. Oh, how masterful are brainwashed at brainwashing the vulnerable.

I can laugh at that stuff now but when I was still a young fledgling member of the church, I remember how those lines burned and hurt and did more damage to my willingness to remain part of that culture than anything any anti-Mormon could have ever convinced me of.
