Things I Hate

Posted by: Andee / Category: , , , , , ,

Know what I hate?

Computer viruses.

Last night I was making a window's movie and some stupid program installed itself on my computer. I was so freaking mad! It kept telling me I had spyware on my computer and telling me I had to purchase some program for sixty bucks to get rid of it. I knew it was fishy so I did a search for it online (it's called AntiVirus Live... stay far away from it) and found a way to get rid of it. It took me a while though... I had to find a free one, start my computer in safe mode, and blah blah blah...

People say that they have fallen victim of this little spyware scam and actually gone through paypal and charged the fake software on their credit cards. I'm glad I didn't do anything like that. I don't have the money to do anything like that... hahaha...

Anyway, I am back and it looks like the computer is back to normal.

Ahh, how I love the websites of internet computer geeks! Without them, I would be slitting my wrists by now. Believe me. I use the work geek with love, because I am one also. I would have lost my mind without a computer.

Since I am on a hating spree... here is a list of more things I hate:

  • Tomatoes
  • When you can't find a pen
  • WhEn PeoPle TyPe LikE ThIs
  • Cheaters
  • Liars
  • Religion
  • Being Broke
  • Bill O'Reilly
  • Sarah Palin
  • Glenn Beck
  • Bigots
  • People constantly popping their knuckles
  • Animal Abusers =The sorry excuses for human beings that hurt Abbey Road and Spooky Bear before I adopted them into my home.
  • Violence
  • Homophobia
  • Black Licorice
  • When people won't answer a direct question.
  • Kent Hovind
  • Kirk Cameron
  • Ray Comfort
  • Loud Neighbors
  • People who lack empathy
  • Football (It's just men running into each other to me)
  • Internet Trolls
  • Brooks and Dunn
  • Tea Baggers (not the gay sex act, the large group of people who want to complain about everything Obama does just because they can).
  • Birthers (not expectant mothers, people who are convinced Obama is not an American citizen and should be kicked out of office).
  • The fact that I am a vegetarian that constantly craves meat. It's hard to stop myself from having a hamburger or a hot dog at times. Really, really hard. I know I would regret it, though. Probably cry myself to sleep.
  • Donald Trump
  • Cell Phones
  • People who can't think for themselves
  • People who tell me I left Mormonism so I could sin, drink coffee, have sex without guilt and be a crazy person.
  • Meeting people who think they know everything
  • Being sick to my stomach
  • People who throw litter on the ground. How hard is it to hold onto it until you find a trash can?
  • When the battery in my camera dies and I see something beautiful I want to capture.
  • Ann Coulter
  • Wal-Mart
  • Parents who have no control over their children, nor do they seem to care
  • People who think they are too special to follow the rules everyone else follows
  • People who complain about using self-checkout while going out of their way to use self-checkouts. If you don't like them, don't use them.
  • Bugs
  • Being an insomniac
  • People who think praying for someone will actually do any good.
  • When people don't dim their headlights
  • When people see you in what is clearly a uniform of some kind and ask, "Do you work here?"
  • When I find a vegetarian frozen dinner I really like and they discontinue it immediately.
  • 80% of the comments on YouTube
  • The wackjob who created Antivirus Live and made me waste so much time getting rid of the damn software.

Flights From Hell

Posted by: Andee / Category: , , ,

This is one of those completely random links to a website I find funny/interesting.

Flights From Hell is a blog dedicated to voicing outrageous stories that happen to people on airplanes. There are stories from pilots, passengers, stories about crazy luggage mishaps... you name it.

I have a Flight from Hell story, but I will leave that for another day.

Andee

Here are a couple airplane vids that I entertain me in one way or another to ad more pizazz to this otherwise bland post. ;)

My Birthday

Posted by: Andee / Category: , , , ,

Yesterday was my birthday.

Another year older and another year wiser?

My ordered this little cake for me as a surprise :) It was dark chocolate cake with a raspberry filling in the middle and buttercream frosting. Absolutely delicious!!

I don't know about you guys, but I am a frosting lover and always ask for a corner piece when I can. Lucky for me this is just a little cake and it's ALL MINE!!! *Insert picture of Andee walking around her apartment in flannel pajamas with a happy birthday tiara and eating cake here*

*Hugs* to all my internet buddies out there. I will be updating the blog more after I come down from my sugar high :)

Whose Line Is It, Anyway?

Posted by: Andee / Category: , ,

I was a HUGE drama geek in high school. I admit it. I was also a band geek, choir nerd, honor society weirdo and in the student council. You can't get any nerdier than me. I promise.

When I was in a play in high school I took part in a couple workshops that help you improvise. The games were very much like what you would see on "Whose Line Is It, Anyway?" an old television show. Well, not that old... I wish it was still on, though.

We would laugh and laugh... keeping each other on our toes. Making jokes and doing unexpected things to throw the other actors off. It was soooo fun.

Anyway, I was browsing the net and I came across these fantastic clips of Whose Line that made me chuckle and wish I could take more of these workshops I miss so much. Watch them, you won't regret it :) Promise.

Andee

The 6:50 mark is hilarious....

Colin and Ryan at their best:

Jeff's Christopher Walken impression is hilarious:

Awards Show for the Most Bitter Divorce:

When Drew joins in on the games he always loses it. The three-headed-Broadway-Star clip is really funny:

If you don't laugh at this one there is something wrong with you:

Do it like you are Elvis:

A Gem

Check out this comment that was just left on my "God's Test?" post...

Listen, If you don't stop questioning god, or spreading the word that he does not exist, than you must have something you are scared about. Stop worshiping obama, and think real hard.

So, you came all the way to *my* blog to tell *me* what *I* should do and say? Who the hell do you think you are? A Christian? Typical. This is America. A free country where you can say what you want to say. It's called free speech. Did you learn about that in school like I did? Look into it, it's great. You also might want to look into the evidence for evolution. It might surprise you.

Last time I checked, there was zero proof of any God existing.

If you have PROOF then please reply with it. I am all ears. Go on now... what evidence is there that a creator exists at all? Looking forward to the reply.

Now, for the worshiping Obama thing?

I *don't* worship Obama. I do think he was the best of the candidates that ran in 2008 and I voted for him (proudly). I don't agree with everything he has done in office, and I don't think it's possible for anyone to like EVERYTHING the President does or says. One thing I do know, is that he is a hell of a lot better at the job than George W. Bush. I do wish that Obama would do more about getting our troops out of war and more to save the environment.

Are you one of those nuts who thinks Obama is the anti-christ?

How about *you* think real hard. Get back to me.

Andee

P.S. Seth, if you read this I will be trying to reply to your comments tomorrow at some point. I have been kind of busy with my plans for world domination. ;)

God's Test?

Posted by: Andee / Category: , ,

Let's pretend I have a belief in God for the sake of this post...

Okay... God sends me to earth to learn things. I don't know what those things are, but I believe He has a divine purpose of some kind that I just don't understand yet.

In order to learn, you have to ask questions... investigate. You have to examine things from all angles and see what makes the best sense.

That being said, what if God's "big test" was to see if I could use my brain and common sense and realize that all religions were a bunch of horse dung?

What if being an atheist or learning to think critically is the lesson we are supposed to learn?

Think of it as a job interview. God wants people who took the time to study and think for themselves. Would God hire the religious sheeple or the person who came prepared with knowledge. Would God hire the person who treated people nicely only because they feared God or Hell, or would he hire someone who treated people nicely because it was just the right thing to do?

Weird thought I had...

Everything Is Terrible

Posted by: Andee / Category: , , , ,

Everything is Terrible is the perfect website for people like me who love to laugh at the television shows, advertisements, and pop culture of the past.

Here are some of my favorites.

Introducing Slim Suit!

Can you imagine I am losing weight just by talking on the phone??

No, sadly I can't.

The '80s were full of public service announcements fighting the war on drugs. Sometimes these were longer television spots made to look like a teen television show. Usually hosted by a blond California surfer type (picture Zach Morris ala Saved By the Bell) that wanted to "rap" with his friends about a serious issue we should all be aware of. Especially since Everyone's on Cocaine:

Anyone but me feel sorry for the lab rat? Poor little thing! He didn't choose to be hooked up to cocaine! Stupid humans and their stupid problems. We don't need to test cocaine on lab rats to know that it's something they will crave once they try it... thats why it's a problem... duh.

I also love the Jesus factor at the end of the clip. Turning to Jesus makes everything better. Go read your bible or you will become addicted to crack and die a filthy prostitute.

The 80's (and the 90's, frankly) were full of people who were convinced that once we reached the year 2000 something miraculous would happen. This lady thought the year 2001 would be extra special:

Man living in peace? Sounds nice.

Intelligent beings coming down to earth and teaching us things? Um... sure. I'm not saying it couldn't happen... but... well... it didn't. Did it? ;)

This is another clip of Uriel. She isn't wearing futuristic garb this time... she looks like a cross between Mary Poppins and Captain Hook.

She is interesting. I will have to look into her strange world of the future another day. I would love to know if she believed her own bullshit or if she knew it was all bunk and was out to make a quick buck.

Here we have a clip from a Christian television program for kids...

Why is it that people always associate kids with puppets? Puppets always scared the living crap out of me. Except the muppets and fraggle rock. Those were quality puppets. I'm talking about the ones that have that evil presence in their eyes. The ones that look like they are following you and staring you down so they can hypnotize you and make you murder your parents in their sleep. Yeah... those puppets are a little too "iffy" for a kids show if you ask me. If you are trying to sell something to a child (basically the parents of that child) you don't want them to burst into tears and scream in horror at the sight of your commercial. Nope. Not the result you are looking for...

This quote left on the youtube page says it all...

Trundel: "Ah, I think I understand Mr. Quigley, obeying is doing something you're told to do".

Mr. Q: "Very Good Trundel, and there are a lot of ways to obey."

Trundel: "Like obeying your parents?"

Mr. Q: "Or someone else who loves you...like me, and my pedophilic tendencies."

So true. So true.

Recycling wasn't a new concept, but this ad makes me laugh for all the right reasons... Bette Midler, I love you.

Don't mess with Bette. She can get nasty. She said so herself.

Know what I hate? Watching a television commercial that makes me cry. I hate that. I know the company is trying to make an emotional connection to the viewer in hopes that they associate them with everything that is good and lovely, but I don't want to cry over a McDonald's commercial. I just don't.

That nice old man was so sweet. If that were an honest ad, however, they would be showing the angry customers demanding things faster and screaming at the old man (and other employees). They would be showing the snot-nosed kids that were making fun of him for one reason or another. That girl that was training him was so over the top as she looked on as the old man fulfilled a customer's order that she could easily pass as a Disney Princess character in the parks...

Phone sex.

How old is phone sex? Not sure... but this classic 80's ad for a sexy singles 1-900 number is absolutely cringe-worthy.

The color of that lady's lipstick makes me giggle. Another YouTube comment I love?

Sweet car-phone!

So true.

People used to leave cheesy answering machine messages all the time. Not so much anymore...

I totally remember that commercial... hahaha... Wait. For-the beep.

Till next time!

Video Hell: Religion

The Best of Jonathan Bell

The next two videos are truly disturbing. They call their website Aggressive Christianity, and it comes complete with long ranting sentences and BIG BOLD RED LETTERS that are supposed to prove to you they are the word of God. Seriously guys, trying to read the page on my computer screen made my eyes hurt and caused a minor headache. Please go to to this website at your own risk. ;) This is what they have to say about the leaders of their army of God:

Every vision has a beginning. In 1979 James and Deborah Green entered the prayer closet and God was there. Speaking to them prophetically, He made it clear that He was raising up an army--His Spirit army. True, there had been other armies claiming the Lord's name, but this was something new. It was by the prophetic Word of the Lord that the Aggressive Vision came to be. Believing what God had said, the Generals took it to heart and began to give their lives so they could live their lives to fulfill the vision. True to His Word, after many years of seeking and sacrifice, determination and hard work, God has brought into existence an army. And that's just the beginning. Over the years God has expanded and embellished the vision, bringing others into the revelation as well, until today God's Holy Tribal Nation shines like a beacon on a high mountain, lifting others up and calling people around the world to give their lives in His service. Yes, God is raising up His army, an army of fearless, obedient disciples--The Army That Sheds No Blood! This is how the Aggressive Vision came to be. The Word of the Lord shall never fail!

The men and women in this group dress in fake military garb and believe they are God's Army. The video shows a guy named "General" James Green lecturing his people about the reasons he will not allow the group to have televisions.

One of the biggest signs of a cult is when the leaders try to keep you from media and then instead fill you with their own messages so you don't have the ability to discern truth from fiction. It's a classic, and you would be surprised how many mainstream religions do this on smaller levels... like telling you what shows you should/shouldn't watch, what newspapers you should read, when you should be watching television, you get the idea.

If God exists, which I clearly believe he does not, I doubt he would think televisions are wicked. Especially since there are so many televangelists out there sharing in his word and preaching the gospel... not to mention becoming wealthy and getting famous and powerful, too.

Yeah, kind of boring, but really fucked up when you think about it. People making themselves generals and thinking God talks to them in some closet running people and getting them to shout "Hallelujah!" when they tell them televisions are wicked.

Good Times!!

Posted by: Andee / Category: ,

I could seriously spend day after day goofing off on this website called Wix.com.

It lets you create web pages using flash and it's really fun and easy. I have been playing around with it for a little while and I made these pages.

Let me know what you think!

Keep in mind I was just playing around, and that I still don't really know what I am doing... haha... don't judge me too harshly ;)

Dark Forest

I liked this one... it's kind of dark, though...

Pink and Black

I like the color scheme, but it's kind of "girly."

Back and Red Goth

This one reminds me of Twilight... and for that reason alone I will never use it.

Hawaii?

Wasn't sure what to name this one... it's pretty plain but bold.

Colorful Spring

One of my favorites!!

Deep Dark Amber

I like the bubbles on this one...

Another red and black

I like the effect behind the "Windy Sydney" sign.

Wood and Grass

Not enough color, but kind of cute... If you hover over the clouds, grass and sun there are bubbles, flowers and sparkles.

Okay... what do you guys think?

Tree Hugging Is Necessary...

Posted by: Andee / Category: , ,

When I walk to the grocery store or take a walk I always take my camera with me. Yesterday was no exception. I walked up to a beautiful bush with tiny red berries so I could get a close-up and when I got closer I realized a good photo was impossible due to the TRASH.

Seriously folks, the grocery store is less than 3 blocks from my apartment and everywhere I looked I saw litter. In the grass, on the sidewalks, the gutters, in the middle of the street. Everywhere.

Styrofoam cups, plastic bags, clothing, aluminum cans, condoms, bullets, even a syringe!!

It's disgusting!

I am willing to guess that at least 80% of the people in my town are believers of a higher power. They think God created this wonderful world just for us humans to destroy! Who cares? Jesus is coming to take us away anyway, right?

Once I started paying attention to the trash I saw it everywhere.

Halfway to the store I decided to snap a photo of every piece of trash I saw lying around to see how many photos I had.

Any wagers on the number of digital images I downloaded from Henrietta (yes, I named my camera)?

187.

One hundred and eighty seven separate photos. Here are a few of them.

What is so fucking hard about walking to a trash can to throw stuff away??? AGH!
