Ahh, I haven't been able to stay away from Mormon.org lately. I love being able to throw questions at these missionaries that get them thinking. I am never rude, mean, or arrogant. I am always kind, and I never put them down or their beliefs down. I simply ask questions and share my opinion of their answers.
Day before yesterday I was able to chat with a missionary about the roles of women in the church...
I asked the missionary why women could not hold the priesthood. He told me that God only gave the priesthood to certain people, and that there was no way to truly know the reason why. He also said that men and women have different roles, and that the roles are equal.
When he used the word equal I shook my head in disgust.
I asked him what was so equal about women never being able to do things like be bishop, stake president or bless their own babies.
I asked him why women couldn't be bishops.
He said, "Probably the same reason men can't be relief society presidents."
I laughed out loud as I wrote, "I don't see why men can't be relief society presidents. They are certainly capable! Just as woman are capable of leading a ward in the calling of bishop!"
I sat there and looked at my computer screen for 15 minutes waiting for this guy to respond. At one point I typed, "Hello?" and he responded with, "Just a Moment please."
I waited again, and when he decided to return he told me he couldn't do my question "justice" and invited me to talk to Mormons in my local area about it.
Yeah, that'll happen.

Me.
WindySydney began as an online journal detailing my exit from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Since leaving the Mormon Church, I have come to the conclusion that religion does more harm than good. I have also become an atheist, looking for logic and reason instead of accepting things on faith.
I also blog about things going on in my life. I am learning photography, I have a severe addiction to diet coke, I am a proud vegetarian, and I have two of the cutest cats in the world. Life is officially an adventure without the magical fairy-tale ending. I plan on enjoying it.

I've just had a thought - chatting to missionaries could be a great party game, especially if everyone's tipsy.

Hahah!
It would be hilarious!
Every time they use the word "pray" someone has to take a shot. Every time they say the word "spirit" they have to have 2 shots!
